Overview

Once you have determined your general site placement process workflow, you can further optimize your process by deciding whether or not you will:

• Enable Opening Management
• Enable Browse Sites
• Hide Site Contact Information
• Enable Task Supervisors

Enable Opening Management

Keep track of the number of openings at each site.

• Divide openings by classifications, so that you can proactively track how many openings there are at a given site for students at each level.
• Enabling site openings works best in conjunction with a Guided Site Placement Process.

When students submit preferences, approvers can review them in the preference review mode, which shows other students' choices and site openings.

Enable Browse Sites

Choose whether or not you want to allow students to be able to browse your program's list of pre-approved sites.

If browsing sites is enabled, students can browse the site list at any time in their “my sites” tab

If browsing sites is disabled and your program uses an assigned placement process, students will never be able to browse the complete list of partnering sites for your program.

If browsing sites is disabled and you use a student-driven or guided site placement process, students will only be able to browse sites when:

• They have completed all required pre-application tasks and they are allowed to select or suggest a site.
• They have completed all required pre-application tasks and they are allowed to submit a preference list.

Hide Site Contact Information

Choose whether or not you want to allow students to view the contact information of site representatives at your program's partnering field sites.

If site contact information is hidden, students will not see the contact information for the authorized site representative at any sites in the site list, even if they can browse the site list.

If site contact information is not hidden, students will see the contact information for the authorized site representative who is associated with any site in the site list. If there are multiple site representatives associated with a site, they will see the one for whom “Primary Contact” is checked.

Enable Task Supervisors

Expand your student's supervision options by adding an additional workflow in which students can complete paperwork to work with a task supervisor as needed.

If task supervisors are enabled, the placement workflow includes a step for students to complete paperwork for a task/secondary supervisor; you can assign supervisors or allow students to select or suggest them.
