When to Log In as Another User

If a user is trying to explain an issue or challenge they are running into, sometimes the easiest way to understand the problem is to see if for yourself. In such a case, you can log in as the user experiencing difficulties and see what they see in their account.

 

NOTE: This feature grants read-only access to another user's account. When logged in as another user, you will not be able to create or submit assignments, site placement tasks, timesheet entries, or support requests. 

 

How to Log In as Another User

Adding the "Log in As Another User" Role

1. Go to the Program Management | Staff & Students environment
2. In the Staff & Students table, pull up your own account
3. Go to the Roles and Tags tab
4. Click the (+) to add a new role
5. Select Log in as another user from the dropdown menu 
6. Click Add 
7. Log out of your account and wait 30 seconds
8. Log back into your account

NOTE: Once you have given yourself this role, you will need to log out and log back into your own account in order for the new role and the related permissions to take effect. 

 

How to Log in As Another User

1. Remaining In the Staff & Students table, pull up the account of the user you want to log in as
2. Click to expand their user record 
3. Click the Log in as, beneath their username
4. Enter your own password for security purposes 
5. You will be brought to the login page and automatically logged into the user's account
6. Upon login, you can click into any workspaces and view any documents they have started, but you will not be able to make any changes 

 

IMPORTANT: This feature currently only allows Admins users to log into student, site supervisor, site representative, and faculty accounts. You will not be able to log into alumni or other admin's accounts using the Log In As Another User feature.
