Can I save a trained net to an .NTF file and use it for live prediction?

Answer:

No. Live Prediction requires the trained net to reside in an Excel workbook with the dataset. An .NTF file alone cannot be used for live prediction.

Alternative options:

• Neural Net Manager allows you to move a trained net to another workbook, so you can analyze different datasets without needing the original training data.

• For custom applications, Palisade Custom Runtime can make predictions directly from .NTF files, which may be beneficial if you have many or complex nets.

Using live prediction in the workbook:

• Predictions can only be generated with the Predict command from the ribbon.

• You can create a one-row dataset with one live prediction cell, then link independent variable cells to the cells you want to use for live prediction.

• There is no fixed limit on the number of live prediction cells, but performance depends on the number and complexity of nets and available Excel/Windows resources.
