What does "Best Configuration: Linear Predictor" mean?

Answer:

By default, NeuralTools tries linear regression on numeric variables in addition to training neural nets (this can be turned off in the Training dialog).

• If the report shows Linear Predictor, it means that linear regression gave better predictive performance than a neural network for this dataset.

• In this case, the report also displays the intercept and coefficients for the linear model in a dedicated section.

What regression method does NeuralTools use for Linear Predictor?

Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) is used to compute the coefficients.
