How Do I Set Up a Log-Normal Distribution with Geometric Mean and Geometric Standard Deviation in @RISK?

Answer:
To define a log-normal distribution when you have the geometric mean and geometric standard deviation, use RiskLognorm2 and wrap both parameters in the natural-log function (LN).

Example:

=RiskLognorm2(LN(2.1), LN(1.8))

How to Enter:

• Type the function directly into Excel’s formula bar.

• Or use @RISK’s Insert Function button.

• Or use Define Distribution → Continuous → Lognorm2, and type LN(...) in the parameter boxes.

Important:

• Use Lognorm2, not Lognorm, when working with geometric mean and geometric standard deviation.
