"Fix distribution to base value when not stepping” in Advanced Sensitivity Analysis

 

Context:

• Relevant when multiple inputs are specified in Advanced Sensitivity Analysis.

• @RISK steps each input individually to assess its effect on the output.

Function of the Checkbox:

• Unchecked: Other inputs vary randomly during simulations of the current stepped input.

• Checked: Other inputs are held constant at their base value while stepping the current input.

Base Value:

• Usually the expected value (mean) of the distribution.

• If a static value is specified via Define Distribution or RiskStatic(), that value is used.

Notes:

• Only applies to inputs selected in Advanced Sensitivity Analysis.

• Unselected inputs still vary randomly unless manually locked.

Effect:

• Checking the box isolates the effect of each input, ignoring the random variation of other selected inputs.

• Leaving it unchecked incorporates interaction between inputs during the sensitivity analysis.
