How Do I Get @RISK Graphs and Reports to Use Excel Themes?

Question:
Can @RISK graphs and reports automatically use Excel themes?

Answer:

• @RISK windows themselves do not use Excel themes.

• To have graphs respond to themes, use Chart in Excel → Excel format (not Image). Graphs then update with theme changes.

Custom Reports

• Change each report to Excel Format via Edit.

• @RISK will remember this default for that report.

• Tables always use Excel themes; graphs follow Excel themes if in Excel format.

Quick Reports

• Tables use Excel themes.

• Graphs are always static images and do not respond to theme changes.

RiskResultsGraph Function

• Fourth argument must be TRUE (Excel format).

• Set registry key:

  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palisade\@RISK for Excel\7.0\Application Settings\Reports
  GraphThemeOrStandardColor = Theme
  

• If set to Theme, graphs follow Excel themes.

• If set to StandardColor or missing, standard colors are used.

• Even without the registry key, Excel format graphs are editable with Excel tools; non-Excel format graphs are static images.

Graphs in VBA

• Use ChartInExcelFormatEx or ChartInExcelFormatEx2 methods of the RiskGraph object.

• Example workbooks show usage; use VBA auto-complete to fill arguments.
