Here’s a clear, professional KB article section for Allow Split Placements:

Allow Split Placements

The Allow Split Placements option lets a single placement request be shared by multiple students at different times, as long as only one student is placed at the site at any given time.

How It Works

1. Add a placement request to a placement group.

2. The site confirms it can accommodate one student for the placement group period.

3. When allocating a student, you specify that student’s exact placement dates.

4. The site is unavailable for other students only during those dates.

5. Remaining dates within the placement group are available for another student.

Example

• Placement group dates: August 15 – December 15

• Student 1 placement: August 15 – August 29

  • These dates are blocked.

• Another student may be placed any time from August 30 – December 15.

In short, the site can host one student at a time, but different students can rotate through the site within the same placement group.

Important Notes

• Auto allocation is not available when using split placements.

• Once placement requests are added to a placement group, this setting cannot be changed.

• The Split Placement icon/feature is disabled:

  • If multiple students are allocated to the same placement request and one student’s details (such as dates) change, that student cannot be separated into a new placement request.
