     • Client Flags

The Client Flags section contains advanced configuration options that control the behavior of SurveyToGo client applications. Unless otherwise noted, we recommend changing these settings only after consulting SurveyToGo Support.

       • Block Surveyors and Supervisors from Using Studio – Prevents surveyor and supervisor accounts from signing in to SurveyToGo Studio. These users can still sign in to the Android, PC, or iOS survey applications.

       • Block Surveyors from Using the FWM App – Prevents surveyors from signing in to the Fieldwork Management (FWM) application.

       • Quotas Ignore Cancelled Interviews – Releases quota allocations when a subject's status is changed to Cancelled.

       • Enforce Subject State – Ensures that newly uploaded interviews are not visible in the Operations Console or available for export until they have been processed by the duplicate detection service.

       • Ignore QA Responsible – Ignores any QA Responsible assignments configured for users.

       • Hide Nodes Without Permission – Hides customers and projects that the current user does not have permission to access.

       • Email Is Mandatory for New Users – Requires an email address when creating new users.

       • Do Not Auto-Close Unused Surveys – Disables the automatic closing of inactive surveys.

       • Fix Corrupted Audio Result Attachments – Enables an option in the Operations Console to repair corrupted uploaded audio attachments when possible.

       • Allow Returning Filtered Interviews to Surveyors – Allows interviews that have been filtered to be returned to surveyors. By default, filtered interviews cannot be reassigned.

       • Enable Transitive QA Responsible – Extends QA responsibility through the reporting hierarchy. For example, if Surveyor A is responsible for Surveyor B, and Surveyor B is responsible for Surveyor C, then Surveyor A is also considered responsible for Surveyor C.

       • Do Not Export Personally Identifiable Information Variables – Excludes variables marked as personally identifiable information (PII) from exported datasets.

       • Default Quota Exceed Action – Defines the default action to take when a quota is exceeded.

       • Enable Device Profiles – Enables centralized management of device profiles.

       • Allow Cached Users – Allows multiple surveyors to sign in to the same device while offline by using cached credentials.

       • Enable Sync to Supervisor – Reserved for future functionality. Currently not implemented.

       • Enable Fieldwork Management – Reserved for future functionality. Currently not implemented.

       • Block Surveyors from Editing Client Options – Prevents surveyors from accessing the Options menu on the client application without the configured password.

       • Lock Users After Too Many Failed Login Attempts – Locks a user account after a specified number of failed login attempts.

       • Enable Client Login Restrictions – Enables organization-wide client login restrictions.

       • Lock Login to Current Organization – Restricts devices to a single organization. Surveyors cannot change the organization on the login screen, preventing the device from being used to collect data for another organization.

       • Allow Blocking Synchronization by Version – Prevents client applications from synchronizing to application versions that have been marked as Bad by SurveyToGo (for example, versions with critical issues). This feature is rarely used.

       • Block Login on Rooted Android Devices – Prevents users from signing in on rooted Android devices.

       • Obfuscate Silent Recordings (PC Client) – Creates additional decoy recordings to help prevent users from identifying and deleting silent recordings.

       • Enable Ignore "Fake Apps" List – Allows you to define applications that should be ignored when checking for prohibited apps (such as Fake GPS), reducing false-positive detections.

       • Show Silent Attachments in Attachment Count – Includes silently captured attachments (such as silent audio recordings or photos) in the attachment count shown to surveyors. When disabled, only attachments captured through multimedia questions are counted.

       • Block Login When SID Is Incorrect – Prevents users from signing in if an invalid Subject ID (SID) is detected, helping avoid issues caused by incorrect SID values.

       • Change Subject Status Names – Customize the default subject status names to match your organization's workflow. You can also define localized status names for different languages.
