SurveyToGo: has complete randomization support for the following:

• Randomize topics of a multi topics question
• Randomize all the questions of a chapter

Setup Randomization

Randomize all (or some) answers of a question

Example: If you have this question that you want to randomize:

1. Switch to the Advanced tab of the question.
2. On the bottom, check the Randomized answers box.

If you need to randomize all the answers but keep one answer static:

1. Follow the same steps as above.
2. In the Advanced tab, click the Answer Properties link.
3. In the Answer Properties screen
• scroll to the right.
• check theDo not Randomize box of the relevant answer:
4. Click the OK button.
5. To retrieve the randomization order for the answers, use this function:
• GetQuestionAnswersRandomOrder(inQuesIndex)

Randomize topics of a Multi Topics question

If you have this question:

And you wish to randomize the order:

1. Switch to the Advanced tab.
2. On the bottom, check the Randomized answers box.
3. To retrieve the randomization order for the Topics use this function:
   • GetQuestionTopicsRandomOrder(inQuesIndex)

Randomize all the questions of a chapter

If you have a chapter that includes the questions Q4, Q5 and Q6:

1. Select the Chapter and switch to the Advanced tab:
2. On the bottom, check the Randomized chapters questions box.
   1. If you need to have the questions randomized in a Cyclic  method, you can check the Cyclic box.

      1. Note: The Cyclic option changes how question randomization is performed.

When enabled, SurveyToGo randomly selects the first question to display. After that, the remaining questions are shown in their original sequence, starting from the randomly selected question and continuing cyclically through the list.

For example, if the original order is:

         1. Q1

         2. Q2

         3. Q3

         4. Q4

and Q3 is selected as the starting question, the display order will be:

         1. Q3

         2. Q4

         3. Q1

         4. Q2

This ensures that the starting point is randomized while preserving the relative order of all questions.

3. To retrieve the randomization order for the questions use this function:
   1. GetQuestionsRandomOrder(inQuesIndex)

If you need to exclude one or more questions from of the chapter randomization:

1. Select the relevant question and click the Advanced tab.
2. Check theDo not random (as part of chapter) box.
