How to add a Sketch Question

Overview

SurveyToGo Studio allows you to add sketch-enabled questions to your surveys. Respondents can draw directly on a blank canvas or sketch over a predefined image. This feature is useful for collecting visual feedback, marking locations on images, or capturing handwritten input.

Configure a Sketch Question

1. Add an Open Ended (Free Text) question to your survey.

2. Open the question's Answer tab and set the display option to Show as Sketch.

3. Navigate to the question's Advanced tab and configure the Sketch Board size. For the best user experience, set the sketch board to the maximum page size.

At this point, the question is ready to use as a blank drawing canvas.

Add an Image to the Sketch Board

If you want respondents to sketch on top of an image:

1. Open the sketch question's Advanced tab.
2. Add the desired image as an attachment to the question.
3. Save your changes.

The selected image will be displayed as the background of the sketch board, allowing respondents to draw directly on it.

View and Save Sketch Files

Completed sketches are stored as interview attachments.

To access them:

1. Open the interview in the Operations Console.
2. Select the Attachments tab.
3. Locate the sketch file to view or save it as needed.
