How To Assign Surveyors To Projects And Surveys

Overview

In order for a surveyor to be able to collect data on a survey in field, the surveyor must be assigned to survey.

There're 3 different ways to assign surveyors:

1. Assign surveyors to the project

2. Assign surveyors to a specific survey within a project.

3. Assign surveyor to a specific survey mode.

2: Assign surveyors to a specific survey within a project

By default, once a surveyor is assigned to a project, they have access to all surveys within that project.

In some cases, you may want to restrict access to a specific survey so that only selected surveyors assigned to the project can view and work with it. To do this, configure the survey to use non-default assignments.

To enable non-default assignments, right-click the survey and select Settings.

From the settings screen, check the “non default assignments” option.
Click OK:
The survey will now have a new “Surveyors” folder where you can add/remove surveyors for the project:
To interact with the survey assigned surveyors, either:
1. Right click the “Surveyors” folder
2. Select the surveyor under that folder and choose from the available options:

3: Assign surveyor to a specific survey mode

Another way to control survey access is by assigning surveyors based on the survey's deployment mode: Test or Production.

Surveyors assigned to the Test group can synchronize surveys to their devices only while the survey is deployed in Test mode. During this time, surveyors assigned to the Production group will not be able to synchronize the survey.

Once the survey is promoted to Production mode, the behavior is reversed. Surveyors in the Test group can no longer synchronize the updated survey, while surveyors assigned to the Production group can.

This assignment configuration is defined at the organization level and applies to all projects and surveys within the organization.

To configure deployment mode assignments:

Right-click the organization name in SurveyToGo Studio and select Organization Properties.

b. In the "main Properties" tab, check the "By Test/Prod" radio button.

c. Click "OK"

NOTE: The surveyors lists are divided into two folders: "Test" and "Production".

Surveyors can be added or removed from each.
