Dimensions (Unicom Intelligence) Integration: Supported HTML tags within Question and Answer text

Overview

SurveyToGo supports importing Dimensions MDD scripts, including their routing logic. Because Dimensions supports HTML formatting, question and answer text in an MDD file may contain HTML tags.

During the import process, SurveyToGo can interpret supported HTML tags and preserve their formatting. However, not all HTML tags are supported. This article explains how to enable HTML processing during import, lists the supported HTML tags, and describes how to handle unsupported tags to avoid rendering issues.

Enable HTML When Importing an MDD

By default, SurveyToGo assumes that the MDD file does not contain HTML. As a result, any HTML tags are imported as plain text and displayed literally in the survey.

If your MDD file contains HTML formatting, enable the MDD Source File Contains HTML option during the import process. This instructs SurveyToGo to interpret supported HTML tags instead of importing them as plain text.

The following screenshot shows where to enable this option during the import process.

SurveyToGo: Supported HTML Tags

The tags currently supported by SurveyToGo: and which will apply when imported from an MDD script:

Supported HTML Tag	Comments
<h1>..<h6>
<font>	only with "color" and "face" attributes
<div>
<b>
<br>
<image>	only with "src", "alt" and "id" attributes
<a>
<u>
<i>
<P>
<strong>
<blockquote>
<tt>
<dfn>
<big>
<sup>
<sub>
<em>
<cite>

Unsupported HTML Tags

If the MDD file contains HTML tags that are not supported by SurveyToGo, they may cause questions or answer options to render incorrectly after import.

To prevent this, you have two options:

• Remove the unsupported HTML tags from the MDD file before importing it.

• Alternatively, enable the Strip HTML option during the import process. This removes all HTML tags from the imported content, including supported tags, ensuring that unsupported HTML does not cause display issues.

Note: When the Strip HTML option is enabled during import, all HTML tags are removed from the imported content, including tags that are normally supported. As a result, no HTML formatting is preserved.
