Sonia Doesn't Open on Launch

 

Background

Temporary files on the computer could be the cause of Sonia not opening. Clearing it on your computer should fix the issue.

Solution:

1. Open File Explorer (folder icon)  
   1. Click your Windows button and then the paper icon.
   2. OR, you may have a file folder icon pinned to your Task bar.

 

2. Paste the following into the address bar (not the search bar) along the top: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Apps\2.0 

 

3. Delete both the Data folder and the folder with an unreadable name
   1. If one of the folders will not delete, it is likely that Sonia is running in the background. Restart your computer, and then try again to delete the folders in the above location. 
4. Launch Sonia.

If you are running Sonia Live:

5.  When it asks for your Sonia ID enter in this number: 
6.  It will then ask you to have an email sent and email you an activation code.  If you do not receive one within 5-10 minutes, reply to this message asking for the activation code. 
7.  Then enter your username and password

Sonia ID can be found:

User path: In the Sonia Client File -> Account, 5th line down is Sonia ID:  under user information

• If a Placement office is looking it up, Go to School Options, Placement Officers
• Find the user, click on the edit pencil
• Sonia ID should be the last thing in the Name Section.
