To access the table layout and design, follow these steps: Open the Forms moduleSelect the form you wish to editClick the Design buttonFind the table that needs to be editedClick the edit pencil on that field Adding Rows and Columns to a Table To add a row or column to a table, find the “number of rows” or “number of columns” field, and click the ‘increase’ button until you reach the desired number. Add Rows and Columns to a Form When adding new cells to a form: New rows are added to the bottom of the table.New columns are added to the right side of the table. Move a Newly Added Row If you need to reposition a newly added row higher in the table, follow this best practice: Select a cell in the row immediately above the new row.Move that cell down so the completely empty cell below moves up into its place.Repeat this process for each cell in the row, as each cell must be moved individually. Why Leave the New Row Empty? Keep the new row completely empty until it is in its final position. This makes it possible to duplicate existing content into the new row if needed. If a cell already contains formatting or content, it cannot be used as the destination when duplicating content. Note: In the example shown below, the cell labeled C8 in the upper-left corner is an Empty Cell field type. Although it appears blank, it is considered a field and already contains content, so it cannot be used as the destination for duplicated content. The cells in the newly added bottom row are completely empty and can be used to duplicate content after they have been moved into the desired position. The concept is the same for new columns. Removing Rows and Columns from a Table In order to remove a row or column, all cells in that row/column must be completely empty (as described above). The completely empty row must be at the bottom of the table; the Remove Rows or Columns from a Form To remove a row or column, there must be a completely empty row or column available: A completely empty row must be located at the bottom of the table.A completely empty column must be located at the right side of the table. If necessary, move an unused row or column to the bottom or right side of the table before removing content. Warning: If you modify a form that has already been used, deleting the content from a cell also deletes all responses previously submitted for that field. If you need to preserve existing responses, either: Export the form responses before deleting the field, orCreate a copy of the form and make your changes to the copied version. Remove Content from a Cell To remove the content from a cell: Select the cell.Click the Settings (cog) icon in the center of the table.Click Delete at the bottom of the menu.In the confirmation dialog, click Delete to permanently remove the content from the cell.Repeat these steps until all required cells have been cleared.Click Save in the upper-left corner to save your changes. After all unnecessary cells have been removed, select the Details tab on the ribbon.Reduce the number of Body Rows and/or Columns to match the new size of the table.Save the form to apply your changes. NOTE: If any cell in the last row/column contains content, Sonia will display a warning (as below) that states cells are not empty and cannot be removed.
