Editing an Item Using a Form

Forms can be used to edit existing items in a story, making it easier for users with Collaborate permissions or higher to contribute and update information.

To enable this, the form must have Allow Item Editing selected in the Manage Forms dialog.

• If this option is not enabled, the form can only be used to create new items.

When using a form from the Forms slide-out panel (accessed from the right-hand menu), you can select an item directly within the current view and edit it.

Once an item is selected, its name appears above the available form names, and the form fields are automatically populated with the item’s current attribute values.

This approach allows story owners to control which attributes can be edited, while enabling editors and administrators to efficiently update key information.

When accessing the form via a URL or QR code, users are given two options:

• Create a new item

• Edit an existing item (by selecting from a dropdown list of available items)
