How to Work with and Navigate the Model

Overview

After a model is generated, the interactive model opens in the web browser.

• The main working area is on the left.
• A legend and additional display options are on the right.
• The toolbar at the top provides access to reports and the Save function.

The default layout will attempt to place category groups without overlap and minimize crossing risk links, though some crossings may be unavoidable. The layout can be adjusted freely to suit the audience or purpose.

Move Elements

Moving the entire model

• Click and drag any white space outside of a risk category group to pan the entire model across the page.
  • Useful when working with large models that extend beyond the visible area.

Moving risk groups

• Click and drag any white space inside a risk category group to move the entire group to a new position.
  • All risks within the group will maintain their relative positions to each other during the move.

Moving individual risk bubbles

• Click and drag a risk bubble or its name label to reposition it within the model.
  • Risks within a category group will always stay within the group boundary.
    • The boundary will expand or contract automatically.
• Risks that are not part of any group can be moved freely anywhere on the model.

Note: When moving a group or individual risk bubble, all risk links connected to that risk will move with it and remain attached.

View Risk Details

• Hover over a risk bubble to see a popup showing the risk score and velocity rating.
• Double-click a risk bubble to open the full risk detail page in a new browser tab.

Zoom

• Pan/Zoom slider:
  • Use the slider on the right-hand panel to increase or decrease the zoom level of the model.
• Zoom to fit:
  • Click this button to zoom out to a level that fits most of the model.
  • Useful before exporting to a report.
• Reset:
  • Click this button to revert to the default zoom level from when the model was generated or last saved.

Additional Display Options

The following display options are available on the right-hand panel:

• Show risk IDs:
  • By default, only the risk name is shown under each bubble.
  • Enabling this option prefixes the risk ID to the name label, which helps distinguish between risks with similar names.
• Categorize single risks:
  • By default, a category group boundary only appears when more than one risk shares that category.
  • Enabling this option adds a group boundary around single categorized risks to make their category assignment visible on the model.

Understanding the Legend

The legend on the right-hand side of the model shows what the visual elements represent:

• Bubble size and color
  • corresponds to risk score
• Border thickness around a bubble
  • corresponds to risk velocity
• Line thickness between bubbles
  • corresponds to link strength

Note: The legend will only display the velocity ratings, scores, and link strengths that are actually used by risks in the current model — not all values configured in the system.
