NVivo for Mac Report: Coding Summary by Code (Codes and Coded Text)
On NVivo for Mac, creating a report containing both the codes and the coded text (Coding Summary by Code) is a multistep process. It requires manual merging outside of the software. 1. Run a Matrix Coding Query that will provide you with all the codes and references in 2 separate tabs of results. Define the files as the Rows and the codes as the Columns for the Matrix. 2. Click on Run Query. This will generate a matrix of your files and your codes with references counts in the cells. 3. Save the results of the query. 4. Right click in the white space of the saved query and choose "Share" to save the file as a .csv that you can open and convert to an Excel spreadsheet. 5. Once you have created the Excel spreadsheet, click on each numeric value in the saved results of the matrix to view the corresponding text in the Reference tab. 6. Copy and paste that text into the Excel sheet you created from the query.
