File classifications also allow you to capture general information about your files—for example, interview date and location.

If you conduct a literature review, you can import the literature references into NVivo—the bibliographical data is stored using 'file classifications'.

If you conduct a literature review in Citavi, Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero, or RefWorks , you can import the literature into NVivo.

Bibliographical information associated with the literature is stored using NVivo's predefined bibliographical classifications—any classifications needed to store the information are automatically added to your project. Import bibliographies

Create your own custom file classifications

1. On the Create tab, in the Classifications group, click FileClassification.
2. Enter a name for the classification.
3. (Optional) Enter a description.
