The Detail View has its own specialized toolbar, across the top of the View, showing menus with commands specific to the type of file open in the View.

You can also use context menus in the Detail View for commands relevant to the selected items Context menus.

The Detail View can be positioned to the right of, or below the List View Change Detail View position.

A Search field on the top right of the NVivo window allows you to search for files, folders, codes, cases or queries within the current project. The search searches project item names—not words inside documents. Search results are displayed in the List View.

Click the log icon at the bottom left of the NVivo window to see a log of import and export operations for the session. If an error is recorded, the icon changes to an exclamation mark.

By default, the log automatically displays errors—e.g. failure to import an unsupported file type. You can change by clearing Show automatically.

The log automatically clears when you close a project—you can save to a text file with the Save button first.
