Applies To:

All current NVivo licenses.

Lumivero provides the latest release of NVivo for all new purchases and renewals.

Background
When your NVivo license expires or is about to expire, renewing it will grant you access to the latest version of the software. You can do this via our my.lumivero.com Customer Portal.

All license keys issued at renewal will be for the latest license version.

Opening Existing Projects After Renewal
If you previously used an earlier release, there is no need to worry about losing your project file or version compatibility.

By default, NVivo projects are stored in the Documents folder of your device. They are accessible in the new version in the same way as the older version.

Windows: Either "Recent Projects" or Open Another Project

Mac: Either "RECENT" or File->Open (from the NVivo Mac menu)

After installing and activating the new license, NVivo converts the files to the updated file format when you open them from the location they were saved previously.

NOTE: After a project is updated to the current format, it cannot be opened in earlier versions.

If your access to NVivo was provided through a university or organizational license:

Please contact your institution’s IT or license administrator for guidance on installing and accessing NVivo under their enterprise agreement.
Enterprise administrators have been provided instructions for deploying the current version of NVivo to eligible users.

Student licenses

Student Licenses are highly discounted with full features. They can only be purchased directly by students via the Lumivero Shop Page and are not eligible for renewal.
