Uninstalling and Reinstalling DTS Software

Procedure

1. Repair first: Run a repair of the software before reinstalling.

2. Contact Support if issues persist: Submit a case via the Lumivero Community Home Page. Technical Support will guide you if uninstall/reinstall is needed.

3. Prepare installers and license files:

   • Place installer(s) on your desktop.

   • For network clients, obtain Palisade_NetworkClient.ini; for standalone licenses, copy .LIC file to desktop if required.

4. Close Excel and Project: Ensure no instances of Excel.exe or Winproj.exe are running.

5. Uninstall DTS software: Use Control Panel » Programs and Features. If uninstall fails, continue.

   • @RISK listed alphabetically; DecisionTools Suite under D.

   • For books, check under D, T, or P.

   • If prompted to deactivate license, choose to uninstall without deactivating.

6. Delete leftover folders:

   • C:\Program Files (x86)\Palisade or C:\Program Files\Palisade.

7. Clean registry:

   • Open REGEDIT and delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Palisade (64-bit) or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Palisade (32-bit).

   • Under FLEXlm License Manager:

     • For network license, delete PALISADE_LICENSE_FILE.

     • For standalone, edit PALISADE_LICENSE_FILE to keep only the System folder path.

8. Reboot the computer.

9. Reinstall software:

   • Right-click installer, Run as administrator.

   • On Customer Information screen, select “I am upgrading or reinstalling”; do not enter Activation ID or select trial license.

10. After install:

    • Test that software opens and functions correctly.

    • No need to reactivate license.

    • Do not add DTS files to Excel add-ins; launch via desktop icon or DecisionTools shortcut.

11. Special case: If reinstalling Windows, deactivate DTS software first, then reactivate after Windows reinstall.
