Error:

Run-time error '1004':

Sorry, we couldn't find XXX.xla. Is it possible it was moved, renamed, or deleted?

Cause and Solution:

This error occurs when a Palisade “Excel12” add-in (language-specific ribbon only, no code) is loaded in Excel.

• These add-ins show the toolbar but not the code behind it, so buttons fail.
• The Excel12 add-ins should never be activated directly.

To fix it:

1. Launch Excel only, go to File » Options » Add-ins.
2. If any Palisade Excel12 add-ins are active, click Go, uncheck them
3. Click OK, and close Excel. 
4. If the toolbar remains, right-click it and choose Remove custom toolbar.
5. When Excel opens with no Palisade toolbars, start Palisade software only from its desktop icon or Start menu.
