When to Copy and Associate Forms

If your program has assigned the same form multiple times, you can save time by copying an existing instance of the form and associating it with the next draft, so that you don't need to start from scratch.

Signatures and approvals from the original document will be removed from the copy so that it is editable. This way, you can make any necessary updates to your next draft.

BEST PRACTICE FOR SOCIAL WORK STUDENTS: Use this feature if your learning agreements are assigned multiple times so that you do not need to copy and paste fields from your original document into your final draft.

How to Copy and Associate a Form with a Future Assignment

1. Open the form you would like to copy
2. Click the Copy  icon in the upper right corner of the form.
3. Click Copy Form
4. Confirm that you would like to copy this form by clicking Yes, Copy
5. Go to the assignment you would like the copied document to be associated with.
6. Click Associate

   • IMPORTANT: You will only be able to click the Associate button if the assignment's status is Not Started. Do not click Start on an assignment if you intend to Associate a document with it.

7. Choose your copied document from the dropdown menu
8. Click Associate again
9. You will then be shown a preview of the form in the assignment, choose to Use this Document (Cannot be Undone) to associate the document with the assignment
10. Edit the document as needed and submit

NOTE: If you see multiple options at step 7, it may be difficult to distinguish between them, since they will likely have very similar names. To resolve this issue, you can go to your other documents space and edit the names of the documents by opening them and clicking the document name in the upper left corner. This way, they will be distinguishable from one another.
