Overview

When placing students via assigned site processes, Placement Coordinators can simultaneously see student locations and filtered sites on a map. They can select a site, view its details, and plot a course using various transportation methods.

NOTE: For a student to appear within the map view, they must enter their street address within their profile. If this is not entered the student’s avatar will not show on the map.

How to Access Map View When Assigning Sites

1. 1. Navigate to Program Management > Supervision.
   2. Open the Site Placements workspace by selecting Review Placements.
   3. On the Placement Approval tab, select the appropriate placement process from the drop-down list in the upper-left corner.
   4. Click the + (Add Site) button next to the appropriate student.
   5. Select the appropriate site classification. A new window opens displaying the student's name and address in the header.

Note: If the student has not entered an address in their profile, the address will not appear in the header, and the student's avatar will not be displayed on the map.

   6. Select the Map View tab to display the map.
      • Site locations are shown as red location pins.
      • If the student has entered an address in their profile, their location is displayed on the map using their avatar.

2. Click a red location pin to open the Site Profile panel.

From the Site Profile, you can:

   • View general site information.

   • View the site representative's contact information.

   • See whether the site has been marked as a favorite by the student.

   • View available site openings (if this feature is enabled for your program).

   • Assign the site to the student.

   • View directions to the site.

   • Open the full site profile.

   • Manage site information.

   • View the site record.

3. To see how far the site is from the student, click View Directions. The map displays the route between the student's location and the site. You can select different modes of transportation from the drop-down menu, and the estimated travel distance and time are updated accordingly.

4. To assign the site, click Assign Student to Site. A confirmation window appears, allowing you to choose whether to:

   • Assign only the site, or

   • Assign both the site and a site supervisor.

5. Click Confirm to complete the assignment. You will be returned to the Site Placements workspace.
