XLSTAT: Save a 3D model to reuse it later or on other data in Excel

This tutorial will show you how to save and reuse a 3D-plot model in XLSTAT.

By saving the visualization models you can save time and build a library of reusable high-quality formats.

Note: For a visualization model to be reusable, it is necessary that the data have the same structure and that the variables have the same names.

 

Setting Up

When you select Data1 data, 

• click on the 3DPlot button of the "Visualizing data" toolbar to obtain a graph similiar to the image below.

After a few modifications, you can obtain the following result.

Once the initial 3D view is created, we can save its formatting for reuse on another dataset. We saved it as demoM3D.m3D using XLSTAT-3DPlot’s File → Save As command.

To apply this visualization model to a second dataset, Data2 (located on the same Excel sheet as Data1)

1. We first close XLSTAT-3DPlot.
2. Then, we select Data2 and click the 3DPlot button.
3. After the initial plot appears, we use File → Open in XLSTAT-3DPlot to load the previously saved model.
4. The result is a 3D plot with the same formatting applied to the new dataset, as shown below.
